Saudi Flash
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
Bottom line
Saudi Flash keeps data to a minimum. Personal data is never sold, and reading the news needs no account. The data described below is handled in line with the Personal Data Protection Law of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and each section says what is collected and why.
1. What the site records
- Server logs. Like most sites, our servers log technical details of each request: IP address, time, page requested, browser type and response status. We use logs for security, fault-finding and abuse prevention, and keep them for a limited period.
- Cloudflare. Traffic passes through Cloudflare, which provides content delivery and security filtering. It processes requests on our behalf and may set security cookies or read network data to protect the site against attacks and abuse.
- Aggregate statistics. We may count traffic with a privacy-friendly analytics service that tallies visits, pages and broad regions and builds no profile of any individual.
2. Comments
Articles are open for comments. Posting one hands us four things:
- a name, shown publicly with your comment once an editor approves it;
- an email address, kept private and never shown;
- the comment itself;
- technical details: your IP address, your browser information, plus the date and time you posted.
They are used to review your comment and, once it is approved, put it on the page; to screen out spam and abuse; and to meet what the law requires of us. No cookie is set when you comment. Once approved, a comment remains visible until it is removed; to have one of yours taken down, email support@saudiflash.com or go through the contact page.
3. Cookies and local storage
Cookies and your browser’s local storage do two jobs here: keeping the site working and remembering a choice you made. At present that means your language and, where the option exists, your “my region/country” setting. The values live in your browser, are never used to follow you around other sites, and can be cleared from your browser settings whenever you like; the site will then simply ask again. Advertising cookies are dealt with in section 4.
4. Advertising
No one can buy personal data from us, advertisers included. Should Saudi Flash run ads, the advertising companies involved may use cookies or comparable technology to show those ads and gauge how they do. That would happen only where the law permits it, and only with your consent where the law calls for it. This notice will be updated at that point.
5. Contact-form messages
A message to the desk reaches us as you wrote it, with whatever name or contact details you chose to give. We use it to reply, to deal with a correction, permission or rights request, and to keep a record of how it was handled. Writing to us never signs you up to a mailing list, and no advertiser ever sees your message.
6. Who sees data
Only the desk and the service providers that run the site, such as hosting and Cloudflare, handle the data above. Information may be disclosed where the law requires it or to protect the site from abuse; when the law demands it, that can mean giving the competent authorities a commenter’s details.
7. Your rights
Personal data on Saudi Flash is handled in line with the Personal Data Protection Law of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its implementing regulations. Depending on the law that covers you, you may be entitled to find out what data of yours we hold, get it corrected or erased, object to some kinds of processing, or withdraw a consent you gave. We also take the principles of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation into account, without claiming any certification under it.
To exercise a right, email support@saudiflash.com and name the right. Before acting we may ask you to show the request is really yours. Expect a reply within a reasonable time.
8. Retention
Logs are held no longer than security and operations require. Approved comments stay up until they are removed, by us or at your request. Contact-form messages are held for as long as it takes to deal with your request and to document corrections and takedowns.
9. Children
Saudi Flash is written for a general adult audience. We never knowingly gather personal data from children.
10. External links
Items may point to other sites. Their privacy rules are their own, and we have no control over them.
11. Changes
When this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on this page.
